Investing in a quality headset always seems to be a tough choice. Additionally if you are little picky like me, then all the more you will have a hard time finding one. However the Pulse Elite Edition Wireless Stereo Headset is different than what most Sony products look and work like. It has a seemingly sleeker body with oversized speakers. Not to mention that this is what attracted me towards it as the design look simple yet elegant.

Features of this headset include

Once I bought the Pulse Elite Edition Wireless Stereo Headset, only then did I realize that it has more than what it appears like. This is a feature rich headset that becomes apparent once you crack open the box. At least I was and I must admit that accessories like a four-pole 3.5mm audio cable and a USB wireless transmitter along with the headset really looked impressive. It really has taken me by surprise with its aesthetic design that is a blend of matte finish and glossy black with a split band oriented design. Its gives you a definitive audio advantage that comes with equally well developed technology. As far as the features are concerned you can have a look at them that are discussed in details in here:

  1. Wireless headset – The Pulse Elite Edition Wireless Stereo comes with a USB stick that transmits sound through 2.4GHz radio frequency. It can deliver sound from any source because of its finer audio fidelity, unlike Bluetooth devices that even sound unstable at times. It is a bi-directional headset and this sets everything right.
  1. Sound quality – Its 7.1 virtual surround sound is a boon for any gamer who can now hear the footsteps of the enemy stealthily marching their way in even before being visible.
  1. The Bass – The BassImpact is its biggest plus that would activate beats in the earpads and you can actually feel the vibrations which again make it a great choice for anyone. It has to be elucidated that as the name suggests, it has the pulse that you may have been looking for quite a while.
  1. Earcups – Talking about the earcups brings us to this discussion which is full of jacks, switches, sliders and buttons. Sliders help on adjusting the sound and the bass constantly. You can mute the mic when not required while playing with multiple players. This means the earcups come with several presets that makes this product certainly different from its predecessors for sure. They fit well on the ears in general which is why you can get maximum audio benefits on the Pulse Elite Edition Wireless. These over the ear earcups are nicely cushioned and can be used to play for hours because of this.
  1. Comfort – The additional comfort that you get with headsets is amazing. That is correct these can comfortably sit on your head and can isolate all the noise from the surrounding environment. These headsets have excellent balance that adds to their charm.
  1. Battery life – It has a good battery life provided you keep them well charged. It has a conservative battery life that suggests long term steadfastness of these headphones. Although many have complained that the BassImpact technology drains out the battery but still they can last for 4 to 6 hours in reality. How much more do you want?

Pros

There are many things that go in its favor like:

  • Comes with optimized gaming genres
  • The BassImpact technology makes it way ahead of the others
  • Can be played for hours
  • Noise cancellation makes sound crystal clear
  • Microphone with muting facilities
  • This is a great characteristic that comes handy while voice chatting
  • Its Hi-fidelity 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound is another plus
  • Status updates can keep you informed
  • It is perfect for mobile devices and even for watching television or DVD
  • It can be connected with PS Vita as well
  • Has good battery life of 4 to 6 hours at a go

Cons

The only problem that puts the Pulse Elite Edition Wireless down is the lack of a USB cable. I really don’t understand why Sony would leave this one put in spite of including everything in it. You could blame the asking price of $150 which goes down to below $100 at various online retail stores. Some users have complained against the headband to be little uncomfortable. Yes but the truth is that these may not be light in weight with all the presets and can get sweaty in warmer climates. Well this is something that we can omit to listen to as this is not that big an issue. If you have problems with this headband, then chances are there you not at all a headset person!

Why is it good for gamers?

There is no denying the fact that this is an ideal headset for avid gamer of PS4 and PS3. Its hi-fidelity 7.1 virtual surround sound can take gaming to a different level. Additionally the exonerating voice chat can help while playing with peers in the best possible ways. Moreover it is excellent for use on other mobile devices and can be played on for hours. Besides there is no need to disturb others with the sound of your games anymore and you can play in complete privacy. What more can be added to this is that they come at a reasonable price that means it is easy on your pocket. Need I say more?

Pulse Elite Edition Wireless Stereo Headset is an amazing and a high intensity headset. It adds vividness to your gaming experience and the fact that it is a product from the house of Sony makes all the difference. It is really not that easy to find a headset with more clarity at this price. Sony has nailed it this time with this outstanding headset for good.
